It is interesting that we live in a time when the Word of GOD is subject to the whims of man!

Beverly Ewing

Mike, I would disagree with you. It is not that the Word of God is subject to the whims of man (or woman), but that the interpretation of the Word is in the hands of the Church, made up of human beings... just as it always has been. God knew we were falliable when God sent Jesus, and put the interpretation in our hands anyway.

I have expressed my thoughts and feelings of my blog. http://reforminggary.blogspot.com/

In general, I think the actions of the General Assembly is a clear invitation for evangelicals to leave the PC(USA). I cannot speak for anyone but myself but, after fifty years a members of this denomination and nearly thirty-five years an ordained pastor, I am sickened and feel like a stranger in my own denomination.

With great sorrow I believe it is time to separate. The passing of 10a makes clear that the church has willfully abandoned obedience to Scripture and has decided that the Word of God is but a guide. As an Evangelical can no longer abide with this direction and can not, in my conscience, maintain fellowship with those who willfully drop the clear teaching of Scripture and its authority. It is time for change.

For the first time in my life, I am embarrassed to be a Presbyterian.

Sherri Kutsch

I love the "full inclusiveness" catch phrase now used so often with the passage of this ammendment. That leaves the door open for all the other unrepentant sinners to enter the PCUSA as leaders and ministers. What's next?? Same-sex marriages obviously..then who knows?? I, for one, won't be involved in the fiasco!! After 41 years of being proud and happy to call myself a dedicated Presbyterian, I am no longer able to agree with where this is going!
