This week, in Louisville, a group of folks from the 6 agencies of the PCUSA have gathered to consider a report that was produced by a group known as the Joint Committee on Leadership Needs. I was fortunate to be on the writing group of this paper, along with other representatives of the Committee on Theological Education, the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly, and the General Assembly Mission Council.
I'm stoked about the conversations that this paper is generating. I was just in Cincinnati facilitating a retreat with the Presbytery Council there, based in large part on this paper, and several other Presbyteries I know of are considering something similar. I hear reports of groups of pastors getting together to discuss it.
I would highly commend this document to you. Download it, read it, spread it, and get the different church groups you're a part of to engage it. I truly believe the ideas in this document have the potential to change the face of our church for the next generation. I love it so much that I even quote it in the text of Open Source Church.
I truly believe the thoughts in this papers have the prospective to modify the experience of our chapel for the next creation. I really like it so much that I even quotation it
